Ken has resided in Florence for over 35 years, where he has made a name for himself as a successful Realtor, developer, and community leader. Ken has an impressive track record in the real estate industry, having served as the President of the South Carolina Association of Realtors and received recognition as the 2013 South Carolina Realtor of the Year. He has also been actively involved in the National Association of Realtors, where he held positions on the Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the NAR Smart Growth Advisory Board. Additionally, Ken has served as the President of the Florence Board of Realtors and received their Realtor of the Year award. Readers of the Florence Morning News have recognized him multiple times as the Best Realtor in the Pee Dee. In addition to his real estate work, Ken has been deeply involved in local growth issues and served for many years as the Chairman of the City of Florence Planning Commission and the Florence Municipal-County Planning Commission. He is a Past Chairman of the Florence Chamber of Commerce and was recognized as their 2007 Business Person of the Year. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florence County Progress and is Chairman of the Florence Downtown Development Board. Ken is also a member of the South Carolina Commission on Lawyer Conduct which is appointed by the South Carolina Supreme Court. Ken is committed to the revitalization of Downtown Florence and has been involved as a developer in several Downtown projects, including Kress Corner, which won the SC Historic Preservation Honors Award for successful and exemplary historic preservation. He is also a strong advocate for education and has been actively involved with his alma mater, Francis Marion University, where he serves as a longtime board member and Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees. In recognition of his leadership, Ken was presented with the “Order of the Palmetto,” South Carolina’s highest civilian award. He and his wife, Debbie, reside in Downtown Florence and are members of First Presbyterian Church, where they both serve as Elders. Outside of work, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, two grandchildren and on the tennis court.
